Background:
Broadsword is the name of a PMC Division tasked to provide long-range protection for VIP’s in AFGHANISTAN. Their responsibilities include, but not limited to, providing close in protection for VIP’s during long trips (whether by land, air or sea), investigate and neutralize threats and counter terrorism.
BROADSWORD operators are the best in what they do. They are usually composed of 12 man teams and each team member is well trained in various forms of warfare. They are excellent marksmen, weapons and demolition experts and communications specialists to mention a few.
OPERATION: Broadsword is a tribute to these men who risk life and limb to protect significant people who can change a country for the purpose of peace and unity.
Test your teamwork and skills in vehicle escorting, demotions, communications and marksmanship in four evolutions.
EVOLUTION 01:
Vehicle escort.
A VIP is scheduled to be transported from his residence to the safe house as intelligence agencies have confirmed threats to his life. Your team will be tasked to provide security while in transit. Be aware that leaks have been noted and the routes might have been compromised. No other route is available, as rebel forces have overrun the detachments in other routes. Be aware that IED’s and car bombs are the best option for the rebel forces and they will only engage if their IED’s fail.
Your team will be provided with TWO vehicles, which you will drive through the designated route.
EVOLUTION 02:
DEMOLITION
It is essential for teams to be well versed in explosives. Abilities in identification, detonation and defusing is essential as teams might need to rely upon themselves to face any threats from explosives and might no longer have time to wait for bomb squads.
Your team has identified an explosive that has been planted in one of your safe houses. Your team will need to defuse the explosive device and re set it to detonate and destroy a bridge that the rebels might use to pursue your team. Please take note that your teams (or at least your demolition experts) will have to wade into waist deep water to achieve this. Still the rebels might use another bridge but will take them longer to engage your team. Use this gap in time to bring your team into the safe zone of the HQ.
Your team will be provided with information on the explosive device and instructions on how to defuse and detonate it.
EVOLUTION 03:
COMMUNICATIONS
Communication is the lifeline of every Broadsword team. This is essential as this might mean survival or destruction of a team in the field.
Your team has been ambushed and is currently pinned down in the middle of a road. Your vehicles are disabled and your will probably need to move the VIP to a safe zone. You will need to communicate with your HQ and ask for coordinates best suited for a safe extract of the VIP towards the safe zone. Rebel forces are around and will engage your team when the opportunity presents itself. Make use of escape and evade tactics to accomplish this.
Your team will be provided with a GPS device and a map of the area. Use you skills in radio communication, map reading and escape and evade tactics to accomplish you mission.
EVOLUTION 04:
MARKSMANSHIP
In any combat situation, your ability to put down any threat relies on your training and talent. Marksmanship plays a major role in this. Your ability to provide stopping force in the right area at the right time spells life or death for you VIP and your team.
